Dapu Reservoir is located on the Emei River, a tributary of the Zhonggang River system, in the Xihepai area of Emei Township, Hsinchu County. Construction began in 1956 and was completed in 1960. The dam is a concrete gravity dam, primarily supplying irrigation water to 944 hectares of farmland in the downstream areas of Toufen, Zhunan, and Dapu, as well as some industrial water. Due to its large catchment area and numerous upstream tributaries, it also plays a crucial role in flood control.
