The operational area of the office extends east from Nanzhuang Township and Dahu Township in Miaoli County west of the Central Mountain range to Houlong and Zhunan Townships in the west which border the western end of the Taiwan Strait. In the south it runs from Sanyi Township to Emei and Beipu Townships in Hsinchu County and part of the area in Hsinchu City in the north; the area spans Miaoli City, Houlong, Zhunan, Toufen and other townships in Miaoli County, Gongguan, Zaoqiao, Touwu, Sanyi, Tongluo, Xihu, Dahu, Sanwan, Nanzhuang and other townships in Hsinchu County including Emei , Beipu, Baoshan Township and Hsinchu City, totaling 17 towns and cities in 3 counties/cities, with a total irrigated land area of 9,504 hectares.
